### Can I use a Llama model commercially?

Generally yes. The Llama Community License permits commercial use, with conditions — notably an acceptable-use policy and a threshold clause requiring a separate license only if your product exceeds 700 million monthly active users. Most teams are clear; read the terms if you are at hyperscale.

### What does a non-commercial (CC-BY-NC) license mean for my product?

It blocks commercial use. A model or dataset under CC-BY-NC or any research-only / non-commercial license cannot be used in a paid product without separate permission. This is the most common license trap in AI supply chains.

### What is an OpenRAIL / RAIL license?

RAIL (Responsible AI License) and OpenRAIL are permissive on commercial use but add behavioural use restrictions — you may not use the model for enumerated harmful purposes. Commercially usable, but the use-restriction clauses ride along downstream and you must pass them on.
