Terms of Use
Last updated October 9, 2026
These terms apply when you use PlayCISO (playciso.com). They are written to be read, not skimmed past. By creating an account, buying a plan, or using the free tools, you agree to them. If anything is unclear, email us and we will answer directly. How we handle your data is covered separately in the Privacy Policy.
1. What PlayCISO is
PlayCISO is a practice platform for cybersecurity leadership: incident simulations, mock interviews, a board report coach, architect studios, and security tools. The companies, incidents and people in the simulations are fictional, inspired by real-world events. Scores, critiques and transcripts are training material. They are not legal, regulatory, security or career advice, and they do not certify anything.
2. Accounts
You need an account for the paid product. Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else is using them. You are responsible for what happens under your account. One person per individual account; team plans are billed per seat and each seat is one person.
If you are under 18, use PlayCISO only with a parent or guardian's agreement. The youth pages are the only part of the site built for younger users, and under-13s can use them only with verified parental consent, as described in the Privacy Policy.
3. Plans and billing
Individual plans are billed weekly, monthly or yearly at the prices shown on the pricing page at the time you buy. Every plan includes the whole product. Plans renew automatically until you cancel.
- Cancel any time from your billing page. Access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again.
- Bonus days added to a plan are a gift; they carry no cash value and are not refundable.
- Price changes apply from your next renewal, and we tell you before they do.
- Payments are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your card details.
If something has gone wrong with a charge, email us before disputing it with your bank; we fix genuine mistakes.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Point any scanner or tool at systems, packages, models, servers or extensions you do not own or are not authorised to test.
- Use the simulations, interview transcripts or outputs to harass, defame or impersonate a real person or organisation.
- Probe, overload, scrape at scale, or try to get around rate limits, access controls or paywalls.
- Upload content you do not have the right to share, including other people's personal data or confidential material.
- Resell, sublicense or share your access, or use the service to build a competing product from its outputs.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where the law requires it, we may also report misuse.
5. Your content
You own what you put in: resumes, RFCs, diagrams, answers and uploads. You give us a licence to store and process that content, including with AI providers, only to run the service for you, improve its quality, and keep it secure. We do not sell your content. You can delete your account and the data keyed to it at any time from your account page.
6. Our content
The scenarios, question banks, grading rubrics, templates, diagrams, software and branding are ours or licensed to us. You may use templates, diagrams and outputs for your own work, including at your employer. You may not copy the platform or republish its scenario and question content as your own.
7. AI-generated output
Scenarios, grading, critiques and interview questions are generated and evaluated by AI rather than reviewed by a human each time. AI makes mistakes. Treat every score, finding and recommendation as a prompt for your own judgment, not a verdict. Scanner results in particular can miss real issues and flag harmless ones; they are a starting point for review, not a security assurance.
8. Availability and changes
PlayCISO is built and operated independently, and we ship often. Features change, and some are retired. We aim for high availability but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change these terms; when we do, the date at the top changes and material changes are announced on the site before they take effect.
9. Warranties and liability
The service is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and our total liability to you for any claim connected with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Consumer protection laws in your country may give you rights that these terms do not override.
10. Ending the relationship
You can stop using PlayCISO at any time and delete your account from your account page. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms, with a refund of any unused prepaid period unless the breach was deliberate. Sections 5 to 9 continue to apply after the account is closed.
